Email on iPhone

This guide assumes that you know your email address and password. To find these, you must log in to My page, where you will find your email addresses under Altibox self service. Good luck!

    • Select Settings.
    • Select Mail, contacts, calendars.

    • Select Add Account.

    • Select Other at the bottom.


    • Select Add Mail Account.

    • Skriv inn ditt fulle navn
    • Input your full name.
    • Input your email address.
    • Input your password.
    • Input an optional description of the account, for example "Lyse".
    • Select Next

    Type full name, email, password and description.

    • Check that IMAP is selected. Lyse recommends IMAP for the type of account.
    • Set the host name for incoming to pop.altibox.no (this also works as IMAP even though pop is written here).
    • Input your email address as the user name.
    • Set the host name for outgoing to smtp.altibox.no.
    • Input your email address as the user name.
    • Input your password.
    • Next

    Choose IMAP, inccoming server pop.altibox.no, outgoing smtp.altibox.no

    • Tap Archive.


    • Select your new account.

    • Select smtp.altibox.no

    Choose SMTP

    • Select smtp.altibox.no

    Choose smtp.altibox.no

    • Enable SSL.
    • Set Authorisation to Password.
    • Set Server port to 465.
    • Tap Finished.
    • Tap Account.
    • Tap Advanced.

    Activate SSL, autentication password and port 465

    • Set Drafts Mailbox to Drafts
    • Go back to Advanced
    • Set Sent Mailbox to Sent
    • Back to Advanced
    • Set Deleted Mailbox to Trash

    Set Drafts Mailbox to "Drafts", Sent Mailbox to "Sent" and Deleted Mailbox to "Trash".

    • Enable SSL
    • Set Authentication to Password
    • Set IMAP Path Prefix INBOX
    • Set Server Port 993
    • Tap Account
    • Tap Finished

    Activate SSL, autentication Password, IMAP Path Prefix to "INBOX" and server port 993.

    Now you're finished. We hope that went okay. If you are having trouble you can try deleting your account, and adding it again. If it's still not working correctly you should contact your iPhone supplier. Good luck!
